Fyfe

Perched atop a ridge in Seattle, this mid-century modern remodel preserves the home’s original character while introducing thoughtful modern upgrades. Originally designed by William Beye Fyfe and completed in 1951, the residence captured the owners’ attention with its open-concept layout and seamless connection to nature—a hallmark of the Frank Lloyd Wright protégé’s work.

Updated windows, doors, HVAC, and electrical systems bring contemporary performance to the home, while new cabinetry, hardwood flooring, and a refined, understated design maintain its mid-century integrity. Thoughtfully reimagined by Victoria Carter Architecture and executed by Hoxie Huggins, with support from Winzen Build Advising, this project honors the home’s legacy while elevating it for modern living.
